Getting your kids to keep their stuff organized can sometimes be challenging. If you give them some assistance it can really help. Using a closet organizer can make keeping their things organized a lot easier for them and you. A kids closet organizer is an easy solution because it is relatively simple to install. They really help to keep all of the small things kids keep in their rooms stored in an orderly fashion. Especially things like books, toys, and school supplies.

Don't go out and buy a closet organizer for your child before you determine their storage needs and hash out some closet ideas first. Kids often have broken toys and articles of clothing that don't fit any more. Go through all their stuff and get rid of everything they can't use any more before you determine just how much storage they will need. By keeping their toys stored properly, there will be less chance of breakage in the future. Do this spring cleaning in their dresser as well because you may find things that will be better off located in the closet then in their dresser. This will help keep the dresser drawers from getting stuffed. Get rid of clothes that don't match anything, are torn or stained and everything that doesn't fit. When you do make that trip to the store, check out the closet accessories in the discount closet organizers section as they may be all that you need to add a little more organization to your child's closet. Closet organizers will help teach your children how much easier it can be to keep things clean by having a place for all of their stuff.

Deciding on the Right Closet Organizer

When you have finished tossing out all of the things that your children can no longer use, sort out their belongings into groups using a method for storing that makes sense to you. This can easily be done by keeping toys together and school supplies in another section. Once finished, you should have a good idea of how many units you need and what size they need to be. By getting a versatile type of organizer for their closet, you will be able to change it to adapt to their needs as they change hobbies and classes in school.

Shopping for a Kids Closet Organizer

When you have completed all of the tossing, cleaning and sorting of your child's belongings, you will want to begin shopping around for a kids closet system that best accommodates their things. A good choice for both durability and versatility is a wire closet organizer. It can be adjusted as time goes on. You can split them up or add to them as needed. This way you will always have the perfect kids closet organizer no matter what stage of growing they are in.

If you are used to screaming at your kids to clean their rooms with no response on their part, it's probably time to analyze their surrondings and their needs to see if the setup of their bedroom allows them to keep things organized in the easiest way possible. A great rule of thumb is that things should be easier to put away then they are to retrieve. The reason being that a child (or anyone) is more motivated to retrieve something then to put it away. A box for shows is great for kids. It makes it easy to put their shoes away though digging them out is more challenging. If they want that certain pair of shoes however, they'll dig until they find them. Make it easy for your children to stay organized and you'll give them skills that will last a lifetime.

I have 2 Grandsons and their mother is always complaining about the mess in their closets. This could be a great Christmas gift. I'm just not sure who to give it too. Their mother or the kids? Great info.
